Formatting My Hard Drive

This photo represents a few days of unfortunate errors. In an effort to create back-ups of my photography. I messed up big time. In about 20 seconds every photo from my new born son (2002) to my most recent compositions were erased formatting the wrong hard drive. 🤬

After finding a solution to hopefully restore what was lost it was time to add more photos to that collection as I waited for the situation to resolve. I drove out to the Apache Trail for some night photography. Decent time of the year to capture the milky way core, which just happened to be one of the best nights for it. No Moon, clear skies, light wind, agreeable weather with a soft din of the wild creatures calling out to one another in the night.

I listened to Dry River Yacht Club along the way through Saguaro Lake to Roosevelt Dam. Sometimes cautiously as I drive past graffiti childishly scrawled on a rickety guard rail, "Someone Loves You", as a last effort for suicide prevention with a hint of dark humor. Someone would miss you as you throw your soul away into the dark abyss. DON'T DO IT! Ahhh! teeheehee the children play with mortality.

As the night succumbs to the blue glow back lighting the ridge line. I race to find the end of the road. The dam, the bridge and the soft gradients of transition from the moonless night to a cloudless day. It was this moment where I forget everything. Formatting my hard drive.
